On My Way...
Right after school tomorrow I will be heading to the NCTM (National Council for Teachers of Mathematics) Regional Conference. This will be my fourth time attending the conference and my second time as a presenter. Have any of you ever heard of the Golden Rectangle or Golden Ratio? That is what my presentation is about. I will basically be teaching other math teachers several activities to do in their classrooms that have to do with the Golden Ratio/Rectangle. They will be learning about Fibonacci's rabbits and the European villages along with how the Golden Ratio is found in nature, architecture, music and art! I took an interest in this concept a few years ago and the more I read about it, the more I discover. The excitement is setting in as I have a time slot on Thursday morning - opening day of the conference. I'm honored to share my workshop with other teachers as well as attend many workshops to learn from others.

The Weekend
The Weekend
We spent this past Saturday in New York City. Venturing out on the beautiful fall day was refreshing and fun. One of the reasons for our trip was to attend The Whole Bead Show. We also made this same trip last spring to this show and I really enjoyed it, so I also wanted to make it to their fall show. It is a wonderful show, wasn't too crowded, and I got to see the wonderful ladies from The Beadin Path! Brought home a bagful of goodies and here is a picture of some of the things.
We ended the day meeting up and having dinner with our son who is attending college in New York City. We had a great time visiting with his roommate and friends from his floor. Even though it was not a very long visit, we enjoyed the time together!

Monday
Here it is Monday evening and I'm going to try to post as often as I can. When I arrived home today from work, a few packages were waiting for me in the mailbox. I received MaryAnn Carroll's and Yolanda's giveaway from September's challenge at Love My Art Jewelry. So pretty and I cannot wait to make something with them! I also received these pretties in the mail...love the etched beads! They have such a soft look to them.
I've decided I'm going to set a goal for myself. I took an etching class with Kim O'Neill this past summer and really enjoyed it. The ferric chloride that I ordered finally arrived and I bought new plastic containers to use for this project. I have quite a bit of copper upstairs in my work area and am going to make an effort to make some etched pieces; components for jewelry.
Have a great night!

Frustrating
Okay, for the past two hours I have tried to get a blog to look somewhat like I want it to look. I "think" I have a photo that I like for my banner...now just to figure out everything else. There might be a Blogger for Dummies book that I should invest in.
Took part in the Love My Art Jewelry cyber sale today. There were a lot of nice things for sale! Hope you all enjoyed it.
Back to school tomorrow. Going to be a busy week.
